Even when I ventured away from my smartphone, I experienced no interruptions or syncing issues while enjoying content on YouTube, Netflix, or elsewhere.

The audio quality of the Oppo Enco X buds is quite impressive. Despite their compact size, they deliver a rich and surprisingly robust sound. The bass, especially, stands out, which is noteworthy in this price range. As a fan of rock, metal, and hip-hop, I found the audio quality quite enjoyable. These buds offer a comprehensive range from lows to highs, and they excel at bringing out subtle details in complex tracks across various genres.
The call quality wasn’t as impressive as some of its other features. My voice occasionally sounded distorted, and they didn’t effectively block out background noise. Keep this in mind if you plan to use them for making calls in noisy environments; it may not be ideal.

Active Noise Cancelling
The Enco X buds also support the LDAC codec. I tested their noise cancellation extensively, and I was genuinely impressed, especially considering their price point. These buds effectively reduce background noise, such as car engines, trains, and vacuum cleaners, making them ideal for enjoying audiobooks and podcasts without the need to crank up the volume to uncomfortable levels and risk damaging your hearing.
Oppo has included an awareness mode, a common feature in true wireless earbuds with noise cancellation. To activate it, simply long-press one of the buds to switch between noise cancellation and awareness modes. I personally didn’t use the awareness mode much because removing one of the buds automatically pauses your music or audio, allowing you to have a quick conversation. Once you’re done, simply put the buds back in, and your playback resumes automatically.
Touch Controls and App
The touch controls on the Enco X work exceptionally well. Despite their compact size, they are quite reliable. Instead of a single tap, which can sometimes lead to accidental skips, you can skip tracks by simply double-tapping either of the buds. Additionally, adjusting the volume is easy by sliding your finger up and down the stems. I found these controls to be very responsive.
Android users can download the Hey Melody app from the Google Play Store. The app offers some control customization options, though they are somewhat limited. However, it’s better than having no customization at all. One handy feature is the ability to set up a triple tap gesture to quickly activate the voice assistant.
Battery Life
I consistently got around four and a half hours of use with active noise cancellation enabled on the Enco X, which is similar to the LG Tones I reviewed but falls a bit short of the Huawei Freebuds Pro. The included carry case is compact and lightweight, and it charges the buds when you place them inside. There’s a convenient LED indicator to show the bud’s charge status, and the case itself can recharge the buds about three to four times on the go. Additionally, the case supports wireless charging.
