GameSir G8 Galileo Type-C mobile game controller supports Android phones as well as iPhone 15 series. In this you can change the joysticks and the most important thing is that you get three modes in it: Android Play, IOS Play, and PS Mode.
Unboxing and Design
First unboxing the box, we get the G8 Galileo controller and then three different sized joysticks, which you can change. And then another small box is found, in which we find a GameSir logo, along with warranty card and user documents. That’s all the things are there in the box, and one thing which I think should be there is a carry pouch, because it’s a portable mobile controller so we can take it anywhere easily which we do not get here. The build quality of the G8 Galileo is made of strong plastic, which is good and does not feel cheap. Talking about the design, you get an expandable platform in it that can attach from small smartphones to big smartphones.
On the rear side, it has grips that provide stable handling so that it will not slip easily from your hand, and you also get to see two buttons. And on the bottom, you have two ports: one is the USB Type-C charging port, so you charge your phone while gaming, and the other is a 3.5mm audio jack, in which you can plug your headphones or do gaming without any audio lag.
Buttons
You have all the buttons that you see on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo controllers: on the right side, A/B/X/Y buttons, a joystick and connection indicator, and a menu button. On the left side, you have the View button, the D-pad capture button, so you can capture screenshots with a single click, and an M button and the triggers on both sides.
And the most important thing is that, like with some other controllers, you can change the joy sticks to three different sizes according to your preference.
Setup and Modes
For connecting your Android phones, just connect with a type-C port and then expand the pad as per your device size. Then the indicator button light starts blinking; if the indicator blinks blue, then it means it’s in Android mode.
And connecting the iPhone 15 series, do the same steps, and then press and hold the view and home buttons for 5 seconds. The indicator will start blinking white. Now that you are in iOS mode, select your game. And if you are playing PS games, you need to turn on PS Mode. Simply press and hold the view + home button. When the indicator becomes green, you are now in PS Mode and playing the game.
App Support
G8 Galileo has its own official GameSir app, which you can download on the Play Store and App Store for iOS devices. In the app, you have a discover section that shows supported games that you can download directly, and it redirects to the official game page, Play Store, or App Store.
When you open the Device section here, you will find the controller that is connecting with your smartphone, and from here you can do firmware updates, calibrations, gamepad tests, and key settings. You also launch the games from here, and it automatically detects the game’s supported controls and turns on mode, whether it’s Android, PS, or even iOS.
Gaming with GameSir Galileo Controller
When it comes to gaming, It supports Genshin Impact, Asphalt racing games, Into the Dead, Resident Evil Mobile Version, and more. played two games and worked responsibly and smoothly. I played Into the Dead 2, and I got a little bit disappointed because when I wanted to shoot any zombie, I need to dubble and take a lot of time to move fast with the right side joysticks, but other buttons worked well.
And when I tested it on the racing game Asphalt 9 Legend, my experience was amazing. All controllers were calibrated according to the game, and I could switch cars in the lobby, upgrade parts, and play all things without touching the screen. I was amazed at how this worked so smoothly, and even after playing 3 to 4 hours of games at different times, I didn’t find any intrusion.
With the GameSir G8 Galileo controller, I want play Call of Duty, but when I opened i bit confused because the buttons were not working. When I launched it through the GameSir App, it automatically switched to PS mode, and then the controls started working. You can also download the configuration of games according to your device and set the buttons as you want.
