Design and Durability

The OnePlus 10 Pro showcases an elegant and intelligent design, featuring a matte finish that effortlessly repels fingerprints and grease. It comes equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the back and Gorilla Glass Victus on the front, ensuring durability and resistance to scratches. While the camera bump might be a topic of discussion for some users, it doesn’t impact the phone’s usability, and the overall design is visually appealing.
OxygenOS and Features
![Software and features](https://www.clearcrypt.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/OnePlus-10-Pro-Software-and-features.jpg)
The OnePlus 10 Pro runs on Android 12 with OxygenOS 12, delivering a seamless software experience that includes regular updates and customizable features. The enhanced shelf and always-on display options enhance user-friendliness. However, it’s worth noting that some Android 12 features like Bass and UI color customization are missing. The in-display fingerprint sensor functions efficiently, but it’s important to have dry hands for optimal performance.
The OnePlus 10 Pro comes with 128GB of storage, and despite capturing numerous photos and videos, I haven’t come close to filling it up. This is particularly advantageous because it supports subtle micro SD memory card expansion, a customary feature in premium phones.
Display and Audio
![Display Quality](https://www.clearcrypt.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/OnePlus-10-Pro-Display-Quality.jpg)
The OnePlus 10 Pro boasts a captivating 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a common feature among phones in its price range. It checks all the expected boxes, offering Quad HD Plus resolution, wide viewing angles, HDR support for natural contrast, and a dynamic refresh rate that ranges from a low of one hertz to a smooth 120 hertz.
OnePlus has taken steps to enhance the screen technology with a couple of innovative features, one being AI adaptive brightness. This feature learns your preferred brightness level over time, whether you’re outdoors or in varying lighting conditions, reducing the need for manual adjustments. Personally, I found the auto-brightness feature to be quite effective, rarely requiring manual tweaks.
Another notable update is the dual-color calibration, which enhances visuals, especially at low brightness levels, making colors more vibrant compared to many competitors. The display truly shines even when brightness is dialed down to its lowest levels, making the OnePlus 10 Pro an excellent choice for those who enjoy watching content on their smartphones.
The OnePlus 10 Pro’s stereo speaker setup, while not the absolute best, performs admirably for gaming and enjoying content like YouTube, even in noisy environments. As expected from premium phones, there’s no headphone jack on the OnePlus 10 Pro. However, the Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity is consistently reliable. I’ve encountered no issues with it over the past few weeks – no audio dropouts, stutters, or any other problems. It’s been smooth sailing.
Performance and Gaming

The OnePlus 10 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen, a chip you’ll find in most flagship phones. In my experience, day-to-day use of this phone has been incredibly smooth, just as you’d expect from a high-end device. For gamers, the OnePlus 10 Pro is a delight. It excels in gaming performance, effortlessly handling even demanding Android titles like Genshin Impact with maxed-out detail settings. This stellar performance is due in part to the upgraded cooling system, featuring a new five-layer design with a vapor chamber, copper foil, and graphene layers. It keeps the phone cool during extended gaming sessions.
The cooling system works remarkably well, allowing you to play for hours without any performance issues. The phone may get slightly warm on the back, but it’s far from uncomfortable and doesn’t impact performance. Screen responsiveness is top-notch, ideal for online multiplayer gaming, with no hiccups. The spacious display offers an immersive gaming experience, and the small selfie camera doesn’t interfere with gameplay.
The OnePlus 10 Pro’s gaming toolbox, similar to Color OS, offers a range of useful tools for gamers. It’s compact, highly customizable, and easy to navigate, enhancing the gaming experience. In summary, the OnePlus 10 Pro delivers an outstanding gaming experience, making it a top choice for mobile gamers who demand high performance and smooth gameplay.
Battery Life
One issue that had given me pause in recommending previous OnePlus flagships over some competitors was their less-than-stellar battery life. However, the OnePlus 10 Pro has successfully addressed this concern. Equipped with a robust 5000 milliamp battery, it’s a significant improvement from its predecessors and may well be the largest battery ever featured in a OnePlus flagship. It performs admirably, with around 20 to 25 percent of battery life remaining on an average day. Over the past month, I only came close to running out of battery once, and that was after over seven hours of screen-on time, including extensive camera usage.
The OnePlus 10 Pro also comes with Oppo’s Dual Cell SuperVOOC battery charging technology, supporting 80-watt fast charging. Using the cable, the phone can be fully charged in approximately half an hour, which is quite commendable. While it may not be the absolute fastest in terms of charging speed – for instance, Xiaomi’s latest smartphone boasts 150-watt wired charging – it still performs impressively. Even just five or ten minutes of charging provides a significant boost, enough to keep you going. Furthermore, the 10 Pro supports 50-watt wireless charging, known as AirVOOC, ensuring you have multiple charging options, whether you prefer wired or wireless.
Camera

The OnePlus 10 Pro boasts a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, resulting in stunning photos characterized by natural tones and outstanding HDR performance. The 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter excels at capturing breathtaking landscapes, though it might struggle with color accuracy in indoor shots. The 8-megapixel telephoto lens offers a 3.3 times optical zoom, delivering decent results when shooting subjects from a distance. Additionally, the phone’s camera features 10-bit HEIF shooting and an enhanced Hasselblad Pro Mode tailored for advanced users.
Final Thought
The OnePlus 10 Pro unquestionably shines as a flagship smartphone that excels on multiple fronts. From its sleek design and impressive AMOLED display to its potent performance and dependable battery life, this phone offers a premium user experience. The Hasselblad-enhanced camera system delivers stunning photos, and its gaming capabilities, thanks to the upgraded cooling system, are top-notch.
While the OnePlus 10 Pro may come with a higher price tag, it unequivocally justifies its value with its comprehensive feature set. While there are minor downsides, such as the omission of certain Android 12 features and average low-light camera performance, these are easily overshadowed by its overall excellence.
For those in search of a top-tier smartphone with seamless performance and exceptional photography capabilities, the OnePlus 10 Pro emerges as a compelling choice. With its blend of aesthetics, functionality, and user-friendly features, this device stands out as an enticing option in the competitive smartphone market.
The OnePlus 10 Pro delivers an outstanding smartphone experience with minimal drawbacks. It impresses in terms of design, performance, display, battery life, and photography. Nevertheless, the absence of a headphone jack and expandable storage may pose some inconvenience to certain users. While the OnePlus 10 Pro stands as a reliable choice, there are more budget-friendly alternatives such as the Realme GT2 and GT2 Pro, or even the Xiaomi 12, which offer similar features in a more compact form factor.
