People were interested in the Nord buds and buds CE, so I decided to search for them and found two options: one with silicon buds and another with a plastic fitting similar to Apple AirPods. I decided to order both and review them.. Both types of buds, silicon and plastic.
Unboxing
Let’s open the box and see what’s inside! We have two similar-looking boxes, which are the Nord buds CE and Nord buds. The Nord buds CE box We have a red cable club card and a user manual, a red Type-C cable, and a smiling sticker.
The Nord buds box is cute, and we have the same items inside, including documents, a Red cable club card, extra eartips, and a Type-C cable. Both boxes are now open. It’s currently 2 AM, but that’s not stopping us from unboxing and reviewing these products!

Design and Build
Let’s talk about the build and design of the Oneplus Nord Buds. They look amazing with a green touch sensor and a solid build quality. The hinges are also very sturdy. I purchased the Nord buds CE for Rs. 1900 and the build quality is good, although it is slightly loose. Both earbuds come with Type-C charging and a glossy finish, which may easily get scratched. Matte would have been a better choice. What are your thoughts on this?
Moving on to comfort, I found that the plastic ones didn’t fit me well and kept slipping out of my ears. The Nord Buds CE fit much better with a tight press, and the ones with rubber grips fit perfectly. The fitting of premium brand TWS is really amazing, and it gives a premium feel.
Key Features
They have Bluetooth version 5.2 and offer instant pairing, quickly connecting to the last device used. The Nord Buds are IP55 rated, while the Nord Buds CE are IPX4 rated, making them both splash-proof and water-resistant. They support SBC and AAC codecs, and the Nord Buds also have Dolby Atmos support.
However, Dolby Atmos is only available for OnePlus phones from OnePlus 7 and above. Both earbuds have customizable touch controls for playing/pausing songs and changing tracks. There’s also an app available, but it’s only compatible with OnePlus phones; users of other phones won’t be able to access it.
App Support
You can download the Hey Melody app from the App Store or Play Store. In the app, you can see all the connected devices and their battery levels. There’s also a sound master equalizer with modes like balanced, bold, and bass, and you can create a custom equalizer. Additionally, there’s a game mode available for both earbuds, boasting a 94ms low latency with OnePlus phones.
However, the game mode might require a firmware update to appear. As for the earbud controls, the left earbud can be turned off, and double-tapping enables different modes like game mode. Triple tapping can be customized, and the same applies to the right earbud. This level of customization is impressive given the price, making it a good option overall.
Battery Life
In terms of battery backup, we get 5-6 hours of backup and including the case we get 10 hours backup from Nord buds. And from CE we get 20 hours backup, as this is cheaper so it has a low capacity battery. But this one has a high capacity battery. Both of them come with fast charge support. Nord buds give 5 hours backup on 10 minutes charge and CE will give 1.5 hours backup. This is due to price difference. Rest, both of them are good.
Mic Test
This is the mic test of Nord buds CE worth 1900. We are testing it indoors in basic room condition. AC and fan are working. Comment and tell me about the mic quality. And yes, you get Environmental noise cancellation. So, this is the quality of Nord buds CE.
This is the quality of Nord buds and these cost $40 and we are testing it indoors. Noise cancellation is same in this.
Music and Multimedia
These earbuds come with 12.4mm drivers, slightly smaller than the 13.4mm drivers in the Nord Buds. The sound quality is decent but not as full as the Nord Buds. The bass tends to dominate and can overshadow the mid-range frequencies, but there are equalizer modes to tweak the bass. Overall, the Nord Buds CE offer a good sound signature for their price, delivering clear mids, highs, and lows with a satisfying richness.
OnePlus Buds CE claims to have 94ms low latency, but when tested on a Samsung S23 Ultra, it didn’t feel like 94ms. It was more comparable to other brands’ 40-50ms latency, which are typically around 90-94ms. To compare, I also tested a Wings TWS with 50ms latency.
Conclusion
That concludes the full review of the OnePlus Nord Buds CE and OnePlus Nord Buds. Both are excellent choices for those seeking TWS earphones with good sound quality, comfortable fit, and fast charging capabilities. The Nord Buds CE are priced at Rs 1900, while the Nord Buds cost $40.
Both the OnePlus Nord Buds CE and Nord Buds offer good value for their respective prices, with their own set of advantages and disadvantages.
